Asus Zenbook Duo 2026: Closer Displays and Big Battery Upgrade
January 6, 2026

The Asus Zenbook Duo is set to receive significant updates for CES 2026, including a chip upgrade, a revamped hinge design, and a substantial battery boost. The upcoming dual-screen laptop will feature Intel’s Panther Lake CPU when launched later in Q1 2026, though pricing details are still under wraps.
Key Design and Hardware Enhancements
One of the most noticeable changes is in the device’s finish and hinge design. The Zenbook Duo now sports Asus’ Ceraluminum finish, offering a textured feel that enhances grip and aesthetics. The hinge has been redesigned to create a more seamless dual-screen experience, with less gap between the two 14-inch OLED displays (2880 x 1800 resolution, 144Hz refresh rate).
Despite its smaller footprint compared to the previous generation, the new Duo packs a larger 99Wh battery—significantly more than the former 75Wh. The pogo pins used for attaching the keyboard and trackpad deck over the lower display are now magnetic, allowing for easy detachment and a cleaner look when not in use.
Side-by-Side Comparison
While the new Zenbook Duo may seem similar to previous models at a glance, a side-by-side comparison highlights the remarkable improvements in hinge design. The upgrade enhances the overall usability and visual appeal of the device.
Looking Forward
The new Zenbook Duo promises a more refined and powerful user experience, especially for creative professionals and multitaskers. The testing phase will reveal how these changes perform in real-world use, alongside its gaming counterpart—the 2026 Zephyrus Duo.
