Stranger Things Season 5 Finale Wraps Up with Continuity Fix for Holly Wheeler
December 31, 2025
As the much-anticipated final episode of Stranger Things approaches, Netflix has made a subtle correction related to Holly Wheeler (Nell Fisher) in Season 5. The episode, titled The Rightside Up, is set to release on New Year’s Eve at 5 pm PT/8 pm ET, with over 1.1 million fans expected to watch in cinemas across the US and Canada.
A Key Continuity Error Corrected
Ahead of the epic showdown with Vecna, a minor but notable error involving Holly Wheeler has been addressed. Fans pointed out that in Season 5, Episode 7 (The Bridge), Holly was seen wearing an Under Armour shirt as she tried to escape Vecna’s control. However, Under Armour was founded in 1996, and the series is set in 1987, making this an anachronism.

Social Media Fans Spot the Anachronism
The mistake was highlighted by eager fans on social media. At the 4:21 mark, Holly attempts to break free from Vecna’s web while wearing a branded Under Armour shirt, a product that didn’t exist during the show's 1980s setting. X user Molusco posted screenshots and commentary, noting that the clothing choice was out of place for the timeline.
“Stranger Things fans on social media have discovered a glaring Easter egg in Episode 7 of the fifth season,” Molusco explained. “At 4:21, Holly is seen trying to escape Vecna’s webs while wearing an Under Armour blouse, which is not supposed to have existed in 1987.”
The Fix and Marked Attention to Detail
Following the post’s virality, Netflix quickly corrected the mistake. In subsequent re-watches, the Under Armour logo has been removed from Holly’s sleeve, maintaining the show's commitment to authentic 1980s aesthetics and minimizing accidental product placement.
One fan commented on Molusco’s post:
“They fixed it. Went and edited it. Just finished our rewatch and it wasn’t there this go around.”
